Please tell me a little more about yourself and your journey to founding your brand.

I’m a self-taught bridal dress designer from the beautiful province of Mpumalanga. I always wanted to be in the fashion industry. After I got married in 2016, everything just made sense because I planned my wedding from A to Z. I fell in love with the bridal industry and wanted to make brides’ journeys easier. I offer dresses, crowns, flowers, shoes etc – all in one place.

How would you describe your designs?

Luxurious French lace, intricate embellishment and beautiful layers of floaty tulle.

Where do you draw your inspiration for your designs?

I draw my inspiration from Italian couture and infuse my creations with a contemporary edge. I’m obsessed with beautiful fabrics and beading, so that comes across significantly in my gowns.

Tell me more about the woman who wears Cherries Bridal. Who is she? What does she like?

She is an unapologetic lover of luxury and wants her wedding dress to be opulently detailed.

What are some of the most satisfying things about designing a gown for a bride?

A bride is like a centerpiece of the wedding, isn’t she? The anticipation of her arrival … everybody waits to see her gown. So it’s really special to be chosen to make the gown, it’s such an honour. Every detail is made with pure love and seeing the tears of joy on their faces is magical.
