De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Overberg region, world renowned as one the best spots for shore-based whale watching, is a short three hour’s drive from Cape Town. Here, in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa you will be blissfully isolated from the rest of the world and you will unwind, de-stress, heal and rejuvenate.

Never stop being curious,” says Marianne, who is a qualified Iyengar Yoga teacher with 20 years of practice on the mat. She satisfies her curious spirit by doing yoga all over the world and immersing herself in local cultures and cuisines. For her, yoga is a continuous journey of humble learnings and delightful surprises and one which allows her to compassionately guide her students towards fulfilling a vision of a joyous and peaceful life.

Marianne approaches life holistically and combines her passion for yoga and the ‘bringing of joy to others’ in all aspects of her life. She believes that life should be lived to its fullest, filled with gratitude and compassion.

She is also a qualified reflexologist, a wine connoisseur and an avid traveller.

  • Retreat Dates: Friday, 6 November, to Monday, 9 November 2020
  • Retreat Price: R6 500 per person sharing
  • The retreat package includes: four days/three nights’ accommodation at De Hoop Collection’s beautiful Opstal area, all meals (healthy vegetarian lunches and dinners lovingly prepared by the expert vegetarian chef), and a guided marine walk (at low tide) along the spectacular rocky shores at Koppie Alleen, plus Yoga sessions (pranayama, asanas, restorative yoga and sun salutations). 
  • Suitable for all levels, but it is recommended that you do have a basic background of yoga

In your down time you can explore and enjoy the pristine environment of De Hoop: take a vlei walk, observe wading birds on the shores of the vlei and pelicans flapping their wings on the horizon, visit the Potberg Mountains, home to a colony of endangered Cape vultures, or you can simply while away the hours reading.
