High quality chocolate and coffee are complex with unique taste profiles. The smoothness and silkiness of chocolate heightens the richness and body in a good cup of coffee and if paired properly, hits all the right notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Washed coffees<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Washed coffees are clean and full of flavour, especially those that originate from Africa, but they lack that lingering cocoa finish. When enjoyed with the Lindt Excellence Dark 70% Cocoa Chocolate Bar, a washed Arabica coffee presents deep layers of complexity with a well-rounded finish. They tend to have a bittersweet cocoa taste with a nutty undertone. This coffee balances well with a citrus type of chocolate and goes down like liquid gold when enjoyed with Terry\u2019s dark chocolate Orange or Lindt\u2019s Citrus White Chocolate truffles which really brings out the creaminess in both the chocolate and the coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>South American coffees<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brazilian coffee has a dense, creamy nut base, which is enhanced when enjoyed with a smooth milk chocolate like Cote D\u2019Or Mignonettes. When paired, the coffee helps to balance the sweetness in the chocolate \u2013 a truly desirable and delectable combination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>African coffees<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coffee from Kenya and Ethiopia are fruity and acidic and presents a slight sourness on the tongue. Coffee from these regions are best paired with a sweeter type of chocolate like a Ferrero Rocher ball. This could be considered a \u2018love it\u2019 or \u2018hate it\u2019 coffee as some people might find it overpowering. The earthiness and spiciness in the coffee interact well with a salty type of chocolate, like Frey\u2019s Supreme Dark Caramel Sea Salt because of the heavy contrast between the two.
