It was so lovely hearing the birds chirp \u2013 an unconventional alarm clock; one that I actually love waking up to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/IMG_20200829_084210-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1535\" srcset=\"https:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/IMG_20200829_084210-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/IMG_20200829_084210-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/IMG_20200829_084210-650x866.jpg 650w, https:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/IMG_20200829_084210.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The lodge itself consists of self-catering chalets \u2013 perfect to rent solo (like I did) or for your group of friends and family. The chalets come equipped with an outdoor fridge, microwave, crockery and cutlery. There is also an outdoor braai and seating area, making for a lekker <em>kuier<\/em> space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those who would rather opt for prepared meals, the in-house restaurant, The Red Ox, serves the most delectable food \u2013 from steak and goulash to lamb curry and oxtail. Guests can also enjoy a range of great local wines (I absolutely love the Cabernet Sauvignon from Klawer Wines!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/IMG_20200828_164653-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1536\" data-full-url=\"http:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/IMG_20200828_164653.jpg\" data-link=\"http:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/?attachment_id=1536\" class=\"wp-image-1536\"\/><figcaption class=\"blocks-gallery-item__caption\">bsh<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I also brought along a Chenin blanc from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/smallscalevineyards.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\">Doornkraal<\/a>, which I enjoyed immensely. The grapes used to produce this wine come from a vineyard in the small missionary town of Ebenhaeser.
