{"id":2107,"date":"2022-03-01T08:02:38","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T08:02:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/?p=2107"},"modified":"2022-03-01T08:02:38","modified_gmt":"2022-03-01T08:02:38","slug":"recipe-mouthwatering-mosbolletjie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/index.php\/2022\/03\/01\/recipe-mouthwatering-mosbolletjie\/","title":{"rendered":"Recipe: Mouthwatering mosbolletjie"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Steenberg Executive Chef Kerry Kilpin<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prep time: 30 minutes\u00a0<\/strong><br><strong>Cooking time: 40 minutes\u00a0<\/strong><br><strong>Total time: 1 hour and 10 minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dough<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>450g stoneground flour<br>1 egg, beaten<br>45g butter<br>150ml milk<br>160ml must or grape juice<br>100g brown sugar<br>5ml aniseed<br>5g instant yeast<br>4g salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Glaze<\/strong><br><strong>Ingredients:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>100ml honey<br>100g butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.<\/li><li>Combine the milk and butter and gently heat until the butter is melted.\u00a0<\/li><li>Add the grape juice and egg to the milk and butter. Allow to cool to a tepid temperature.<\/li><li>Combine the flour, sugar, aniseed, yeast and salt in a mixing bowl.\u00a0 Gradually add the milk liquid to the flour to form a dough.\u00a0<\/li><li>Knead the dough for roughly 10 minutes until smooth and the gluten has developed.<\/li><li>Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth.\u00a0 Allow the dough to rise until it has doubled in volume.<\/li><li>While the dough is rising, grease a standard bread tin.<\/li><li>Once the dough has doubled in volume, divide it into 18 equal parts. 2 rows of 9 balls each. Place tightly next to one another in the bread tin.<\/li><li>Combine the honey and butter and melt over a medium heat.\u00a0 Gently brush the top of the buns with the glaze.
