{"id":2540,"date":"2023-05-24T05:13:27","date_gmt":"2023-05-24T05:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/?p=2540"},"modified":"2023-05-24T14:38:50","modified_gmt":"2023-05-24T14:38:50","slug":"lets-chat-with-chef-fotchnet-mhlongo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atableforone.co.za\/index.php\/2023\/05\/24\/lets-chat-with-chef-fotchnet-mhlongo\/","title":{"rendered":"Let&#8217;s chat with Chef Fotchnet Mhlongo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Fotchnet, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.morukuru.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Morukuru Family Madikwe<\/a>, started her cheffing career at a five-star establishment, and she describes herself as passionate, confident and creative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I can skillfully plan menus, prepare outstanding food, manage budgets and deliver on quality,&#8221; she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her reason for becoming a chef, she enthuses, is because she &#8220;loves the buzz&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;[I love working] in a busy environment where I can have creative control and where I can express myself in a job that I love.&#8221; And her creative process involves preparation, illumination, evaluation and verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;What inspires me is I make time to rest, so new ideas can rise to my mind by reading books or anything that can make me feel peaceful, and connect with other&nbsp;chefs.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if she could have dinner with anyone \u2013 dead or alive \u2013 who would that be and what would she serve?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;My executive&nbsp;chef&nbsp;(Esmaralda).
