Tokara Chardonnay and Shiraz staked their claim with two Double Gold medals at the 2023 Veritas Awards, South Africa\u2019s longest running and most prestigious wine competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tokara\u2019s Double Gold duo, the Reserve Collection Stellenbosch Chardonnay 2022 and the Shiraz 2021 took top honours with the Tokara XO Potstill Brandy awarded Gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Described by UK Master of Wine Tim Atkin as having a \u2018zingy, refreshing acidity and a savoury undertone\u2019, the Tokara Reserve Collection Chardonnay 2022 enters the palate with bold, ripe yellow citrus flavours leading to a creamy finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere is a continuous saline focus and feeling of freshness throughout that suggests this wine will age beautifully for at least a decade,\u201d says winemaker Stuart Botha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Shiraz 2021 from Tokara\u2019s premium range stands proud in this year\u2019s line-up of Double Gold medallists. The palate is a melange of wild berries, baking spice and lightly toasted oak with alluring freshness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
