Recipe: smothered boerie rolls with spicy masala chips and tomato and onion relish

Ingredients:

  • boereowors
  • buns
  • chopped tomatoes
  • tomato paste
  • one diced onion
  • two medium-sized potatoes
  • masala paste

Method:

  1. Slice potatoes into chips. Fry and set aside.
  2. In a pan, add your masala paste and some water. Toss chips into the mix and set aside.
  3. In a separate pan, fry your onions until golden brown.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and tomato paste and fry for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add salt, pepper and sugar to taste. Set relish aside.
  6. Fry or bake the boerewors in a separate pan until done.
  7. Assemble: add masala chips, then boerewors, and then top with the relish.
