With sweeping and uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean, Lions Head and the Twelve Apostles Mountain range, The Presidential and Grand Master suites at The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa is a staggering 350 square meters of utter jet-set opulence. With its perfect architectural finishes and the utmost attention to detail, the Presidential wing takes up the entire top floor of the uniquely positioned Lions Head wing.

The layout is immensely flexible with a large lounge, wood panelled study and an eight-seater dining area. The Presidential Suite easily transforms into a Grand Master Suite offering the option of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms en suite as required, accommodating 10 guests in total. The Suite comprises The Presidential Suite (160 sqm) with one bedroom or the Grand Master Suite of up to five rooms, stretching across the entire top floor.

A free-standing, antique marble bath allows guests to relax and unwind while taking in these breath-taking views and the immensity of the blue ocean, through one-way glass. The superb seclusion of the private terrace offers the most perfect setting for an intimate cocktail at sunset or a private alfresco dinner.

The decor of brilliant white silks, taffeta and lush custom fabrics in ice blues offer a fresh and vibrant feel of lightness and soothing tranquility.

Chests of drawers have bespoke crystal knobs and the principal bedroom’s custom-made headboard is upholstered in ice blue silk, tufted with over 600 clear crystal buttons.

The floors are a cool, highly polished white marble throughout with under floor heating. White porcelain chandeliers from Capri in Italy hang gracefully over the dining table, lighting the walls of antique mirrors, some clad with a specially designed sculptural effect and exquisite mosaics.

The dining area seats eight and allows the executive chef to prepare a private dinner for you and your guests. Enjoy a specially mixed cocktail of your choice at your private bar while sitting on Italian designed barstools covered in pale blue leather. A Nespresso coffee machine has also been installed and each room boasts its own climate control.  In the master lounge and master bedroom, automated curtains have been installed for further convenience.

On the walls hangs a spectacular collection of 10 original water coloured drawings by English artist and explorer Thomas Baines depicting Victoria Falls, as well as works by landscape artist Jacobus Hendrik Pierneef, generally considered to be one of the best of the old South African masters. These complement the other priceless collections of other notable South African artists within the hotel and grounds.

Exquisite collectable posters of Blue Star Cruise Lines from its 1935 winter cruise on the Arandora Star are also to be enjoyed in the suite, which portray the grandeur of ocean travel in years gone by.

Imported Thasos, brilliant white and Bodrum beige mosaics from various sources measuring as small as 10×10 mm have been meticulously placed by hand throughout the boardroom, bathrooms and entrance; this took over a month to complete and used a staggering 121 380 mosaics.

Crisp white, finely carved floral panelling adorns the walls and ceilings in the suite, creating a seamless flow to the breath-taking ocean beyond the terrace. The panelling is hand carved by making a clay, then silicon mould, followed by a lightweight resin. This takes around two weeks to create and a total of 60 panels were used. The panoramic sea and mountain views from the terrace have been further enhanced by the architects who opened up the lounge space to create uninterrupted views of the ocean and marine life.

iPod docking stations can be found in all the bedrooms, lounge and study, with Bose surround-sound fitted in the lounge to create the ideal mood. Flat screens TVs and DVD players have also been placed in all the bedrooms, bathrooms, study and lounge. A fax, scanner and wireless printer are found in the study with Wi-Fi in all suites.
